Bella begins working for the elusive and distant Edward Cullen who she discovers is hiding behind an elaborate charade to maintain his secret lifestyle. Bella is determined to find out the mysteries of Edward Cullen but with what results? AU, OOC.

FYI... This story is not based on Canon however Edward's family exists as it does in the books.

Bella becomes Edward's Personal Assistant but he's reclusive and she never sees him. When she does encounter him he's rude and has no tact and is, in fact, a bit frightening. Edward is drawn to Bella's scent and tries to drive her away so that he's not tempted by her blood. She refuses to give up and romance blossoms and she discovers his vampire secret. Edward spends his days parading as a human in the workforce and his nights as a vigilante keeping humans safe from his own kind.

The author does an interesting job of spinning the small tale of James and Alice's story (found in SM's books) into a full blown mystery. As a reader you become hooked on the love story as well as the mystery behind James's desires.

Excellent writing, good, believable Edward, strong Bella. Really liked that Edward was on his own a lot in this one and his family didn't coddle him - that seemed unique to me.

Not sure if I'd read this again - but it was written well enough and was entertaining enough to spend time reading it. This story has a sequel in the works.

Team Jacob safe. He's in the story as Jacob, but does not know Bella. There is no relationship there. His charcater is well written too.
